The TDGSO board and student organization is composed of Theatre and Drama graduate students currently enrolled at UW-Madison. TDGSO events, including guest speakers, opening night receptions and the conference, are open to the public. The fall graduate conference welcomes the participation of all graduate students in the humanities. TDGSO endorses and adheres to all University policies regarding inclusion and non-discrimination in its events and the election of officers.
TDGSO Officers are required to be UW-Madison graduate students majoring in Theatre and Drama. Officers can self-nominate themselves for a position or be nominated by a fellow theatre graduate student or faculty member. The TDGSO board will be elected at the spring retreat, with the goal of appointing at least one representative from the graduate clusters:
Theater for Young Audiences, Acting and Directing, Design and Management, and Research. If there are no candidates from a subject area, the position will be filled by other nominees.
Decisions regarding TDGSO events will be made at monthly meetings.
TDGSO will meet on the first Thursday of each month in the Barry Robinson Student lounge. An alternate meeting time will be established by the officers at the start of each semester. A call for agenda items will be sent to graduate students ten days before the upcoming meeting. The agenda will be posted to the TDGSO website 48 hours before the upcoming meeting. Members who cannot attend the meeting can register their vote on an issue or respond to agenda items by emailing the Communications director before the group assembles. The TDGSO officers will communicate with department faculty and staff through the named faculty advisor. The faculty advisor will receive a copy of the monthly meeting minutes. The current faculty advisor is Dr. Kristin Hunt.
